动物和人

Dear Parents,

This week I read two other picture book stories from Eric Carle- “The Very Quiet Cricket” and “The Mixed-Up Chameleon”. Those are great story books for their storyline, variety of other bugs and animals we have learned and also beautiful colors. This is a very nice package for children to learn or review Chinese vocabularies of bugs, animals and colors within a couple of interesting stories. After listening to stories, they did artistic worksheets to personalize the main characters in the story books. They love listening to stories about animals and got excited about the end-of-semester performance. Our plan is to do a small show about the origin of Chinese 12 Zodiac Animals!

After learning a bunch of plants, bugs and animals, I felt it is time to focus them back to themselves as a human being and to learn about body parts. They were enjoying playing the game “Simon says” in Chinese as well as singing a part of a cute Chinese child song named
《健康歌》(“A Song of Being Healthy”)

I may have them sing this song on a regular basis in the future to energize them.

In all, this is a relatively short but eventful week. The weather is getting warm and sunny, even though it’s quite windy. I wish you all a healthy and fun weekend!

Xiexie ^_^
