Welcome to Ms. Cata’s Spanish page!

Hola a todos los papás:

I am happy to announce that our class blog is up and running. I will be posting what the class is up to, the activities we have done, what we are learning, etc. Other things you’ll find here are:

- Links to Spanish language websites for kids (with games, stories, and fun activities),

- links to downloadable pages with Spanish content,

- pictures of what we are doing in class,

- cool craft and/or cooking projects that I have found on the net,

- links to tips on how to aid your child’s Spanish learning at home, etc.

Please feel free to send articles, websites, videos, etc, that you might find useful for our class and to further home Spanish practice. This blog is a tool for communication between myself and all of you, parents. I will be posting as often as my time allows it, please come back to check our blog as often as you like. I recommend bookmarking us so you can find us easily. Do not hesitate to contribute with your comments, I appreciate all feedback.

*For those of you interested in volunteering and spending some time with us during the class, send me an email so we can schedule a day.*

Last but not least, email me with any of your concerns and/or questions, I will respond as soon as possible.

¡Muchas gracias y buenas noches!

Ms. Cata.

Hi, Everyone! Welcome parents and students to the i-Immersion Mandarin Program. I’m so happy to have old and new students this year. It’s great to see this much interest in the Chinese language and culture, and I hope you are just as excited as I am about the new collaboration with i-Immersion

Speaking In Tounges

When I turned to the PBS station this weekend, Speaking in Tounges was showing. I was immediately sucked into watching it. It’s a great documentary film about bilingual programs becoming more and more important in young children education. It’s also shot locally, right here in San Francisco! Here is the trailer:

They have the full version on PBS.org but they only have Chinese or Spanish subtitles. The English subtitled version is not available yet. Here are some links:
