i-Immersion was founded in May 2008 by the Kuo siblings- Alice, Stephen, and Michael.  The intention in the beginning was simple- to provide an effective language tutoring service in the San Mateo County to friends and families.  The eldest sibling, Alice, has more than ten years of teaching experience at both public and private schools, as well as in the higher education institution at UC Berkeley.  Alice started with 20-30 students in her evening and weekend tutoring classes while holding a full-time job.  Her passion for teaching inspired Stephen and Michael to join and eventually became teachers themselves.  The Kuo’s language service was such a success in the community that parents asked their school principal and the city recreation coordinators to implement the i-Immersion Program during their enrichment hours.  The increasing support motivated Alice to devote herself fully to the business in January of 2009 and branch out to providing more variety of immersion programs to other families.  The founders’ biggest dream is to build a well-rounded multicultural community where every child can speak another language.
