What is i-Immersion?
i-Immersion™ teachers use a unique teaching style in which students are introduced to a subject in a fun and interactive way. “Immersion,” specifically, is a teaching approach to foreign language instruction in which the new language is the medium of instruction as well as the object of instruction. At i-Immersion™, we strive to make not just foreign language but other academic subjects fun, engaging, and rewarding. Our instructors and curriculum writers are experienced in teaching and researching centered on immersion learning. They design i-Immersion™ course curriculum based on the follow two principals:
Interactive Social Context
A “language” is acquired most effectively when it is learned in a meaningful social context. We group students by interest and the appropriate age to encourage “language” exchange. By doing work, performing, and making presentations in small groups, our students find a meaningful connection with the subjects they are learning at i-Immersion™.
Customized Lesson Plan
Important and Interesting content provides a motivating context for learning the communicative functions of the new “language”. Unlike traditional schools with set curriculum, our Teachers and staff work on improving the i-Immersion™ curriculum every session or season based on students’ performance and parent feedback. Students are not interested in learning something that serves no meaningful function, so we are always adding new content to our materials based on current trends and interests.
