Happy Holidays, ¡Feliz navidad y próspero año nuevo!

Thank you to all of the parents who were able to come in to the i-Immersion Open House on Thursday, Dec 16th. I believe that for many of you it was a first time observing and participating in the Spanish class. Thank you for being wonderful participants and audience members. As you can tell, the kids were very excited to have you there, as was I. Besides the previous consumption of gingerbread houses and chocolate by the children, it added another dynamic to the class. (I had never seen all of them at once that rowdy and bouncy before).

(If you have any comments or feedback, please feel free to email me or post it on the blog!)

For those who weren’t able to attend, let me fill you in. I held class as I normally would do, which included quiet time with drawing, puppet time, songs, and storytime. I was happy to see the parents playing “Simon dice” (simon says) and singing our favorite “Chu chu wa” song, and “Vamos a cantar”. I hope you learned some Spanish! After recess, the children were anxious to perform their dance to “Guantanamera”, which they had been practicing for the past two weeks.

All of your children did a wonderful job! I was so proud of them! so focused, quiet and concentrated on their dance movement and shaking their maracas and cinturas (hips). I thought it went well, and, most importantly, that they had fun. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

I wasn’t able to record it, but if anyone would like to share it, I can post it on the blog if you send it to me via email.

I am also very happy with the progess of the class as a hold. I see that they feel much more comfortable speaking spanish and their comphension has improved immensely. You should be proud of your child, they have earned it.

Thank you for a wonderful semester and I look forward to returning in January. This has been an expansive year and all your children have been a blessing in my life. Each day I go home with a story to tell of something funny they said or did. Your children are amazing.
May everyone have a relaxing and peaceful vacation, and may your New Year be blessed with love, laughter, joy and richness from the heart.

Sincerely,

LeAnna
